Event Status: Available
Philadelphia is large and contains multitudes.
This exhibit, curated by longtime Studio 34 collaborator JJ Tiziou, features images from the city’s edge created by artists who’ve set out to explore the city’s margins on foot.
Since 2016, Walk Around Philadelphia has evolved into a citywide public program that has facilitated the exploration of the city’s furthest (and wildest) reaches for hundreds of Philadelphians.
Join us on June 4th 7-9pm for last chance to check out the exhibit, film screening of footage from the walk, and conversation / Q&A between JJ Tiziou & Morgan Andrews at 8pm.
******************
Hours:
The exhibit is open through June 4th during Studio 34's regular community lounge hours, and anytime that events are happening at the Studio. You can also pop in for a quick visit during the registration times shortly before any of the regularly scheduled classes.
Currently, the lounge is open 4:30-7:30pm Mon-Fri, and 10am-2pm on Wednesdays.
The closing event will be the last chance to see the exhibit here in West Philly before it moves to Cherry St Pier for the summer. Q&A begins at 8pm.
Accessibility note:
Studio 34 is up one long steep flight of stairs at 4522 Baltimore Ave

Jacques-Jean “JJ” Tiziou is an artist, massage therapist and block captain. Best known for his 85,000-sqft How Philly Moves mural at PHL Int’l Airport (the largest piece of public art in the city, recognized as one of the nation’s best public art projects by Americans for the Arts), you might also recognize his installation of yoga photos that is periodically on display at Studio 34. JJ is also the organizer of Walk Around Philadelphia; he has walked the complete perimeter of Philadelphia eleven times, and invites you to join the growing community of perimeter-walkers in helping make this unique experience of the city more accessible to all.
