There are a few residential blocks in Eastwick at the southwestern corner of Philly that we walk in the course of the Walk Around Philadelphia explorations of the city's edge.

The land behind neighbors' houses there used to be a beautiful field / meadow and hub for some communtity gatherings, but as of late it seems to have been neglected by the city; several trees have fallen across it and some areas have gotten quite overgrown.

Neighbors on that block have requested help in removing the detritus and making it a space that they can again enjoy. We'd love to have some Walk Around Philadelphia perimeter-walkers & other neighbors come lend a hand!

An urban forestry crew from PowerCorpsPHL will be there in the morning, doing the big chainsaw work of cutting up some of the downed trees etc. We'll come in after them and help with moving logs, clearing brush, and doing whatever else needs to be done.

Wear long pants and be ready to sweat with your neighbors – it'll be fun and fulfilling!
