There are so many! As for serendipitous onsite education, it would be hard to beat the presentation made by the director of the Lower Darby Creek Superfund site who we chanced upon and who, instead of chasing us off, gave us an outstanding insight into the way the site is being managed for the long term. Or the gentleman who had just driven his Harley up from Delaware the day we happened by the Navy Yard and told us all about the 11 years he had spent in service on board the John F. Kennedy aircraft that is still docked there waiting to be towed and scrapped. Sweet moments.
